PATHFINDER - Underground-Band des Monats Oktober 2010
PATHFINDER wurde 2006 von Arkadiusz E.Ruth und Karol Mania gegründet. In Polen, welches von Death und Black Metal dominiert wird und Behemoth und Vader die führenden Elemente sind, ist eine Gruppe wie PATHFINDER recht ungewöhnlich und selten.
Beide Musiker waren sich einig, dass sie etwas Neues erschaffen wollten. Musik, die sie musikalisch als auch gedanklich fordern und erfüllen wird, aber gleichzeitig positive Emotionen hervorruft. Die Musik von PATHFINDER erlaubt dem Hörer, in eine andere Dimension zu driften, ein Land gefüllt mit Magie, Farbe und Geheimnissen des Unentdeckten.
2007 wurde die Band vervollständigt und man begann mit intensivem Proben. Folgende Mitglieder stießen damals hinzu: Gunsen (g), Simon Kostro (v), Kamil Ruth (d) und Slavomir Belak (k).
2008 wurde dann in Eigenproduktion die 4-Track-Demo-CD „The Beginning“ veröffentlicht, welche exzellente Reviews aus der ganzen Welt empfing. Nach solch einem großartigen Feedback dachte die Band das erste Mal darüber nach, ein Vollzeit-Album zu veröffentlichen.
Dem Erfolg von „The Beginning“ war eine Tour mit Ex-IRON MAIDEN-Sänger Paul Di'Anno sowie THUNDERBOLT zu versanken, wodurch die Band auch über polnische Grenzen hinaus bekannt wurde.
Und man kann sich denken: Für eine Band, die damals noch nichtmal ihre Debüt-CD veröffentlicht hat, was es eine große Ehre sowie ein großer Erfolg, den sie verbuchen konnten.
Das Jahr 2009 brachte allerdings zugleich auch noch eine vielversprechende Kollaboration mit dem erfahrenen Producer und Sound Engineer Mariusz Pietka vom MP Studio in Czestochowa mit sich. PATHFINDER entschlossen sich, mit ihm an ihrem Debüt-Album zu feilen.
Speziell für diese Produktion haben sie den „Moonlight“-Chor gegründet, welcher eine treibende Kraft für das Projekt war.
Bei den Aufnahmen war zudem Opern-Sängerin Agata Lejba-Migdalska dabei, welche die Band seit ihren Anfangstagen unterstützt.
PATHFINDER haben aber auch noch einige Prominenz auf ihr Album geholt:

Nun, 2010 liegt und das Ergebnis vor: „Beyond the Space, Beyond the Time“ nennt sich das Album – und wie die Demo räumt die Scheibe ab. Aber testet sie selbst – mit dem exzellenten Track „The Whisper of Ancient Rocks“, welchen ihr unten im Stream hören könnt. Man beachte außerdem die grandiosen Lyrics! Aber auch die anderen Songs auf „Beyond the Space, Beyond the Time“ versprechen großartigen Hörspaß!
